10 Strategies for a Happier and More Grateful Life

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Family!

Like many of you I spend a little or a lot of time on the roads driving.  For the past year or two,I have been using that time to listen to various podcasts.  While I love music and enjoy singing along to the top tunes I also like to learn from others.

I think of podcasts as small books that I can listen to without taking a lot of time. I choose podcasts that help me learn more about my field of health and wellness like https://www.mindbodygreen.com and https://wellnessmama.com/podcast/,

However I also like to listen to shows that are a little different. Shows that expose me to subjects and thought leaders that I might not otherwise come across.  For this reason I listen to The Tim Ferris Show. https://tim.blog/podcast/

On a recent Tim Ferris podcast I listened to A.J. Jacobs.  I had never heard of him and to be honest his voice and delivery were initially challenging however I stuck with it and I am so grateful that I did.

In this episode,  A.J. Jacobs explains the premise of his new book, Thanks a Thousand, which details a few of his previous adventures for the uninitiated, and shares his top 10 strategies for being happier and more grateful in these super stressful times.

“So it is not happiness that makes us grateful. It’s gratefulness that makes us happy.” -David Steindl-Rast

Below is a summary of  A.J. Jacobs top ten.  I am pretty good at noticing the small things that go right and I am better at savoring the moment since I got back from Italy, however I could use more work on Strategy #9. What about you?
