Good Energy : The Power of this Simple Routine

Good Energy : The Power of this Simple Routine

Most patients who seek my support are dealing with the consequences of too much stress for too long or too much all at once.  What they want is Good Energy and Simple routines/solutions to their challenges.  It is hard to keep things in balance when everything coming at us hard and fast.  We as humans are wired to be on alert and get ready to fight, flight, or freeze, so we have to be very intentional with how we manage our nervous system.

Balancing the nervous system is a critical piece required for good health!

We have forgotten what calm feels like. How many of us can sit still and just breathe for 30 minutes?  We must be very intentional with our choices and our thoughts to be able to generate resilience.  Resilience means that when we encounter stress because life happens, we have the ability to handle it, move through it and bounce back. To do that we have to create balance.

STRESS AND WHAT IT DOES TO OUR BODY

  • Shallow Breathing and Mouth Breathing which decreases Oxygen.
  • Sugar and Salt Cravings.
  • Elevates glucose levels and the causes an insulin roller coaster.
  • Changes in Blood Pressure
  • Decreased Immune function.
  • Shuts down digestion and starts the chain of issues.
  • Changes the menstrual cycle, hormones and causes infertility
  • Chronic tight muscles and bone loss
  • Changes in mood from Anxiety to Depression or both
  • The Liver releases glucose to activate muscles to run away from the tiger!
  • The Bladder Releases
  • Weight Gain
  • Poor Sleep
  • Skin. Issues
  • Brain Fog

Good Energy : The Power of this Simple Routine

A simple Morning Routine that will help support balance.  This routine has helped me and so many of my patients improve their wellbeing, lose weight, improve digestion and most importantly help them learn more about their own mind body connection.

How you start your day sets you up for success:  As with all newness it will be inconvenient as all new habits can be, however, to be the best you can be each day I suggest you commit to this.  Dedicate this short time each morning to take care of yourself first so you can take care of others, love yourself first so you can love others … etc etc
This routine will also overtime help you manage life’s ups and downs, build resilience and balance the nervous system.

Your Best Day Starts Here: A Morning Routine for Mind, Body, and Balance

Get up an allow 30 minutes for your morning routine. 6 days a week.
(no screens till you have done all of the things below)
Start here and follow the steps:
  • Hydrate: Drink a glass of filtered water with lemon (You can add electrolytes for additional support)
  • Sit for 10 minutes close your eyes, breath in and out of your nose and listen to your breath. Here is a link to my breath-work handout for you to choose what works for you.  If you prefer a guided version there are tons on YouTube. (a caution with that…It can be distracting).
  • Breath is life and focusing on that connects the mind and the body.  The idea is quiet and peace. If you wake up sluggish then close the left nostril and breath through the right for a few breaths to create some energy. If you wake up and are keyed up and you are having a hard time focusing on your breath. Do the opposite and close the right nostril and breath through the left for a few breaths to bring you back into your body. Hint:  Use this technique to also help you with digestion and sleep.
  • Then Journal 5 things you are grateful for.  (complaining is not allowed)
  • Now enjoy 15-20 minutes of Movement. It should be varied and focused.  Most importantly it should feel connected not just going through the motions.
  • Start where you are and aim for two days of flexibility and balance, 2 days of strength using your own body and 2 days where you get the heart rate up and breath in and out through your nose.
  • Take your support supplements and then a savory breakfast. This is an important step to keep blood sugar in balance and provide good balances fuel for the mind and body. There are tons of resources available:  My two favorite books on the subject: Good Energy and Glucose Revolution. Garb them in hard copy so you can see the diagrams and thumb through the pages.

Good Energy : The Power of this Simple Routine

My patients that have implemented this practice have all reported that they feel so much better because in 30 minutes you have provide the mind and body the nutrients it needs to start the day from a place of balance and wellbeing.

Once you have this system down you can add to it with perhaps sunlight or a focused intention and then do it daily for the rest of your life

Your Body and Mind will thank you! Please feel free to share with others.

Have a healthy week and due to popular demand,  I am accepting patients in clinic on Fridays.
