Each year on April 22nd, Earth Day, we’re reminded to care for the planet.
The official Earth Day 2026 theme is “Our Power, Our Planet,” focusing on collective action and empowering individuals, communities, and businesses to create meaningful environmental change through everyday actions.
This theme emphasizes that lasting progress comes from grassroots efforts rather than relying solely on government actions.
If we as humans want to live healthy lives, we have to create an environment that supports that goal. We are living in a toxic soup and wondering why there are so many people that have chronic health challenges today!
But here’s the quiet truth:
The same small choices that support the earth… also support your body.
When we reduce toxic load, simplify what we consume, and reconnect with natural rhythms, we’re not just helping the environment—we’re calming the nervous system, supporting the gut, and creating resilience from the inside out.
This doesn’t require perfection.
Just awareness—and a few intentional shifts.
Your gut and the earth share something in common: both thrive with diversity and minimal disruption.
A few simple places to begin:
A cleaner food environment often translates to a calmer, more supported gut.
Many personal care and home products contain compounds that can burden both your body and the environment.
Consider slowly swapping:
Less chemical exposure = less work for your liver and immune system.
One of the most impactful (and often overlooked) ways to support the planet is to stay connected to your local ecosystem.
Explore:
When we support local growers and initiatives, we reduce environmental strain—and build stronger, healthier communities.
Time in nature isn’t just “nice to have”—it’s regulatory. This is one of my favorite things to do along with conscious breathing through the nose and big sighs out the mouth.
Even 10–15 minutes outside can:
A walk, gardening, or simply sitting in the sun counts.
Both in healthcare—and in sustainability—it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.
You don’t need to do everything.
Instead, ask:
“What is one small shift I can sustain this week?”
Small, consistent decisions create meaningful change over time.
There is some Good News, and it is encouraging!! This is what happens when we can use advancements in science and technology to help us in the future.
Caring for the earth isn’t separate from caring for yourself.
It’s the same work.
When you support your internal environment—your gut, your detox pathways, your nervous system—you naturally begin to make choices that are better for the world around you.
Start small. Stay consistent. Let it build.
Your health and the health of the planet are more connected than we’ve been led to believe.
Our Environment makes a huge difference to our health/ ecosystem.
Have a Healthy Week and celebrate all that is good. Need support… I am here to serve.
